Every year, thousands of volunteers from all over Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the Eastern Seaboard come to First Fruits Farm in Freeland, Maryland to get their hands dirty and harvest produce. It's the real deal - we work hard picking tomatoes, potatoes, apples, corn... whatever is currently in season. Bring your church group, coworkers, school group, scout troop, or other community organization for a unique and rewarding experience that brings people together and serves people in need.

GROUP VOLUNTEER SIGN UP
We would love to have your group come harvest in the fields with us! For groups of 5 or less, please refer to our volunteer sign up page.
FAQ's about volunteering, directions to the farm, and more information can be found here, on our website. A follow up email will be sent with details specific to your volunteer day(s). You may be contacted by phone with last minute details related to weather, harvest information, location updates, etc.
Each participant needs to bring a signed liability waiver. Dress for the weather, expecting to get dirty. No sandals or flip flops. We provide gloves, drinking water, and on-the-job training. Most folks feel like they have had a full day at the farm after about 3 hours in the fields. We try to complete our harvest activities before the heat of the day sets in.
EVERY volunteer at First Fruits Farm must print and sign a liability waiver and photo release. Don't forget yours!

“Every moment on the farm was filled with God's glory. From nature to harvest. The staff made my new experiences with picking corn and potatoes so easy. It was truly a blessing to hear and know about the great works of First Fruits Farm. The presence of God shows through the people and the product.” — P.B.
“ Fulfilling service opportunity!”
“Our company came here for a day of service and had a wonderful time! As someone who works in the health and wellness field and has a passion for fresh, local food and giving back, I enjoyed everything about my experience with Fresh Fruits Farm. I can't wait to come back...and bring my church!” — P.B.
